Blumhouse Productions Expands into the Gaming Industry with Blumhouse Games

It's time for horror fans to celebrate! Blumhouse Productions, the well-known studio behind films such as Paranormal Activity and The Purge, has announced the launch of Blumhouse Games.

The new division intends to work with independent game developers with budgets under $10 million to create horror titles for PC, console, and mobile devices.

They have the means

Blumhouse Games will be led by industry veterans Zack Wood and Don Sechler. Wood has a wealth of experience, having worked on titles such as The Unfinished Swan, Bound, and Prey: Mooncrash over the course of his 25-year gaming career.

Sechler worked at Sony for nine years, contributing to the studio's industry knowledge; who knows, maybe a Blumhouse console is next?

Almost every horror fan is familiar with Blumhouse Productions, but for those who aren't, the company was founded in 2000 and has since produced some of the most successful horror film franchises of the last two decades, including The Purge, Paranormal Activity, and Insidious.

The future

While it is unknown which games Blumhouse Games will be developing in the near future, horror game fans can look forward to their favorite film studio expanding into the gaming industry.
