Sony to showcase new PS VR2 games and Suicide Squad gameplay in first 2023 State of Play event

Sony’s first State of Play of 2023 is finally here, and it looks like we’re in for a lot of new games and perhaps even other surprises.

The event will be livestreamed on Sony's PlayStation channels on YouTube and Twitch on Thursday, February 23, at 1pm Pacific / 4pm Eastern / 9pm GMT / 10pm CET. Sony promises to show off new third-party games, including five new PS VR2 games, as well as gameplay from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

First-party and VR2

However, there will be no updates to first-party titles such as Spider-Man 2. This time, Sony is focusing solely on third-party developers, which may disappoint some who are mainly interested in sony's first-party titles.

Regardless, there is more than enough reason for excitement, as according to the company, the stream will include five new PS VR2 games announced by partners. It also promises to show off new indie titles and other announcements, though it's unclear what they'll show.

Title of my..

The fifteen minutes of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gameplay that Sony will show is perhaps the most exciting part of the presentation. This is the next game from Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the hugely popular Batman Arkham series, which will be released on May 26.

Strong Start

Sony is clearly looking to kick off the year with a bang, promising an exciting presentation that gamers cannot afford to miss. Keep an eye out for new game announcements, updates, and possibly some surprises. We're counting down the hours until Thursday!
